Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) has a long history of use as food and medicine in Tibet Northern Asia, where the plant been associated with wide range health benefits. buckthorn (SB) berry, seed leaf have reported to contain more than 190 bioactive compounds, including polyphenols (epicatechin, epigallocatechin, gallic acid, proanthocyanidins, chloregenic acid) flavonoids (quercetin, isorhamnetin, kampferol glycosides, lutoelin, myricetin). SB represents good source phenolic compounds acting synergy PUFA such omegas 3, 6, 7 9, vitamins (vitamin C), organic acids. exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cytoprotective, anti-cancer, hepatoprotective properties, improvement various metabolic markers glycemic control lipid profile. polyphenol fraction also demonstrated significant cardioprotective, antihypertensive neuroprotective actions. acts natural stem cell mobilizer regenerative properties. As consequence, consumption stimulates pancreatic regeneration animal model insulin-dependent diabetes. In conclusion, exert benefits obesity, diabetes hypertension, well liver, kidney brain health, positioning sea berry extract an interesting valuable dietary supplement for complementary therapy antiaging.
